Hello,
I've taken over a Kentico site. I'm trying to install the site on my local machine to do the development.
Above is the error I receive. I have installed .Net 3.5 but still getting error. When choosing the .Net version with the app pool only 2 & 4 show up.
The live site is using .Net 2.0 / Integrated Pipeline / Kentico 4.0.
Local site is using .Net 2.0 & Integrated Pipeline

My machine is Windows 8 with IIS7
This matches the live site.
Local has Anonymous & Form Authentication enabled.

I am afraid you are using a version of Kentico CMS that is outdated and not supported anymore so there is no telling if it works with .NET 3.5 or not as it was released when .NET 2.0 was up-to-date.

I would suggest upgrading to the latest version 7 which works fine for .NET 3.5 and higher and is also fully supported apart from version 4 and older. You can find more details in this blog - Support of pre-5.0 versions ends.

I'm seeing this error too, but on server 2012, on the live site. I found this microsoft KB article about a hotfix for 3.5. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2803760

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the hotfix for download.
