Access Denied!!!
I am currently attempting to use the free version of Kentico CMS but when i try to upload a file to the Media Library i get the following error.

"An error occured during the file upload: Access to the path 'd:\..\S8000515_1.jpg' is denied."

I also get the "Access Denied" error when trying to delete a file from the media library.

I'm using Godaddy for web hosting.

RE:Access Denied!!!
You need to grand "write" permission for site folder. It is not granted by default in GoDaddy.

RE:Access Denied!!!
Hello,
I'm facing the same issue, I already have granted the permissions as described in "Disk permissions problems" article , I still get the same error.

The error appears when I try to upload file or attachment

More details:
what I did is that I have reinstalled Kentico on a new server, but I have connected it to an old database restored on the new server.

That is mean:
1. The Kentico files are new by doing a new intsallation
2. The database is for another kentico application hosted on another server

More:
I found that the folder that need to have the write permission is only exist within the old Kentico folders, its name is similar to "Site Code Name" at "CMS Site Manager", I copied it to the new kentico folder and granted the write permissions, but the error still appears.

any help???

Thanks
Omar

RE:Access Denied!!!
Hello,

Could you once more check the permissions of the folders according to the configuration tutorials posted in this thread? Are you using the same version of the database as the installation (including hotfixes)? Could you please post the error message?

Best regards,
Boris Pocatko

RE:Access Denied!!!
Hello Boris,
I did what you requested, the write permissions have been granted for all CMS folder levels.

regarding the Media Library tutorial: I did not create any media library, it was only uploading files into created image folder, or uploading the files onto page's attachments.

I currently use Kentico CMS version 4.1, so I installed the setup file I have "KenticoCMS_4_1.exe", but after the new installation I did not use the "Configuration Wizard" to configure the website, instead of this I replaced the "web.config" file with the one I use with previous installation, and I restored its database (Script of tables and data) onto new server's database, FYI: I put the website -this time- as sub domain.

as I mentioned on my last post...the file that contains the attachment files, was created in previous installation of kentico, and its name is similar to the website code name, which is for my case "HaifaAG" folder, I copied it from previous installation onto new server and I granted the write permission for it.

now it gives me the error for sub folders as you will see on the error message, and the write permissions already granted for all folder levels

the error message is: "[AttachmentManager.SaveFileToDisk]: Access to path 'C:\Inetpup\vhosts\orood.biz\subdomains\haifa\httpdocs\HaifaAG\ff\' is denies."

thank you,

RE:Access Denied!!!
Hello,
Fortunately, the issue has been resolved.
I granted write permission to "IIS_WPG" user and everything is working fine now.

thank you for your support guys.

RE:Access Denied!!!
Hello,

The posted error message is typical for insufficient permissions. Could you please once more check the permissions settings for the correct role?

RE:Access Denied!!!
Hello,

Could you please check whether you have set appropriate permissions for that folder? You can find more details about the permissions in our Developer's guide:
http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/index.html?media_libraries_security.htm
http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/index.html?disk_permissions_problems.htm

RE:Access Denied!!!
Hello Lokendra,

are you using Windows authentication?

What is the full error message? What has changed that the error started to show?

Best regards,
Martin Danko
