Running cmsdesk/sitemanager on a seperate server from site
Hi,

I'd like to run the admin controls on a separate server from the actual production site, as part of this I would like to separate the solution files themselves to make for lighter weight development, as vis studio grinds to a halt opening the very large kentico solution.

Is this something that is ever done?

I am also interested in running the admin side separately but for the purposes of using separate types of authentication. I have 2 separate copies of the application hitting the same database & it works fine in a test environment. I would be interested to hear the experiences of anyone else who has done something similar.

Hi,

You will need to configure the two machines into a web farm and then, on one of them you can remove the CMSDesk and CMSSiteManager folders. So, when the user will access the administration UI, will be redirected to the second machine. I hope it makes sense.
