Best way to deploy web parts
What is the best way to deploy web parts that we have created from on environment to the next?

We tried export and import but when we import successfully it seems to be deleting other web parts and other times to gives an access denied error. Every time we contact support they tell us to verify permissions and the permissions are correct. Any assistance would be great.

RE:Best way to deploy web parts
Hello,

could you please check the settings of Step 3 of Import process?

You may see the object tree on the left zone. Please find:

All objects -> Global objects -> Development -> Web parts

uncheck all delete tasks and then continue with import.

Does it help?

Best regards,

Hey Helena,

How come by default these are checked on? Even when the tree is not expanded the import will delete all my customized web parts?

Thanks,
agerace

RE:Best way to deploy web parts
Hello Agerace,

It remembers deletion of objects which were on the original site. If you want to break the rule you need to uncheck the checkboxes in the import process manually.
