Moving from GoDaddy...any recommendations?
Well, I'm finally fed up with GoDaddy's slow servers and the constant problems with getting things to work.

I took a look at some of the official Kentico Hosting partners, but other than 3 or 4 that are in the same price range as GoDaddy (around $5 to $8/mo). I'm not sure who to go with.

The biggest plus would be that I don't have to export all virtual objects everytime I need to make a change to the transformations and such. Recommendations anyone?

RE:Moving from GoDaddy...any recommendations?
Hi,

Most of the hosting providers are using medium trust environment due to the security restrictions for the application.

Also, it is hard to find a hosting which is as cheap ans GoDaddy but with better performance - for that price there will be always some kind of limitation - CPU, Memory usage, etc.

But we have very good experiences with kenticohosting.com and with Applied Innovations.

Best Regards,

RE:Moving from GoDaddy...any recommendations?
I took a look around, and I decided to try out SoftSys as my new hosting provider.

I went with them since they offer Full Trust. I will say, I am noticing a HUGE improvement in speed with these guys over GoDaddy.

But, once again, the VirtualPathProvider is not running. I did put in my request to enable Full Trust, and they confirmed that they got that working.

Is there anything else I need to request to get the VirtualPathProvider working? I have added <add key="CMSUseVirtualPathProvider" value="true" /> to the web.config just incase. Also, if I go to CMS Site Manager -> Administration -> System -> Files, I see that everything fails except for Modifying '~/CMSSiteUtils/TestFiles/TestModify.txt' - OK.

Thanks for your help so far!

Application account must have Write access to web-site directory. Check it. :)
