Problem showing culture based on domain user is accessing from
Hi,
To explain this needs some detail. My client has a site, for aguments sake it's http://www.xyz.com. He also owns http://www.xyz.co.uk - both these domains are listed in the Kentico CMS (V4.01).
OK, the .co.uk site should display the ecommerce content to general customers. This is a currently working site and all is fine and dandy.
However, the client would like the .com site to be trade only and show different text but basically the same design. They would also like the ability to have a trade login section so that once the user has logged in with their secure username/password, they see the same basic information as the end user clients BUT the trade prices are displayed instead (obviously discounted).
So what I thought I could do is:
1/ Goto Site Manager, Domain Aliases and add the .com site with a new culture setting i.e. English - Ireland 2/ Then in the CMS Desk, I select a page, I then get a message (New culture version (en-IE)) and proceed to get a copy of the content for the new page (Copy content from another language). 3/ I save the new document name with an IRL extension (for Ireland). 4/ Now I can edit some text in the new language so I do so.
This is where it gets stuck. I would expect to go to http://www.xyz.com and when I access the relevant page, I should see the new content I added in step 4 above. This is not the case and what I am seeing is actually the full english version of the site that the .co.uk displays.
Could anyone please explain if this is possible using this method and if so, how and where have I gone wrong?
Regards
Simon
