How would you update a hosted site?
Hi all:

I've got my site on godaddy.com which I've been able to install without a problem.

The problem I'm having is this... I replicated a similar setup on my local pc because I figure this way I could do development work on the go and then upload everything to my main site when ready.

What I found is that when I was ready to move things to production (godaddy), I exported everything out using the export process in kentico. I ftp'd the file to the appropriate place on my godaddy acct and I tried to run the import process. This is where things failed on me. I believe because virutalpath is not running or because its a medium trust site, it ran into several errors.

Also, I tried to do a backup (local) and then a restore into my hosted db but found that I couldn't do that either because they don't allow that.

So my questions are:
* Has anyone figured an easy way to update their hosted account after making changes from a local pc? Do you just upload templates, themes and other related files individually?

* Aside from the backup/restore option for a db, what else is a good option to update all those tables in Kentico with data that you might have changed from your local version?

* Anyone have any similar experiences and suggestions/solutions?

Thanks in advance!

RE:How would you update a hosted site?
Hello,

Could you please take a look at the following thread? I think it may help you. You could also try to use the staging module. Please see our documentation for more details.
