Cannot login to CMS Desk
Kentico 4.0 is installed and SQL Server 2005 Express on Windows Server 2003 Standard with .Net Framework 3.5. The web site loads up but when I try to login to the CMS Desk or the CMS Site Manager, I receive this error:

"Validation of viewstate MAC failed. If this application is hosted by a Web Farm or cluster, ensure that <machineKey> configuration specifies the same validationKey and validation algorithm. AutoGenerate cannot be used in a cluster."

The server is not a web farm nor is it a cluster. I have tried to disable "enableviewstate" to false in the web.config as stated in the Kentico knowledge base and the error disappears but I cannot login still.

Can someone please advise?

RE:Cannot login to CMS Desk
When login from firefox it works fine. When login from Internet Explorer 7, it gives the same error.

Any thoughts?

RE:Cannot login to CMS Desk
Hi,

If you are using full page caching, could you please try to disable it?
Moreover, are you using any custom security providers?
Are you using in web.config something like this:

<httpCookies domain=".domain.com" />

Could you please remove it?

Best Regards,
