Upgrade Process from 3.1a to 4.0
Where would we find the process of upgrading an existing site from 3.1a to 4.0?

Are there any gotchas?
Will existing documents, custom controls etc be lost?

Thanks

RE:Upgrade Process from 3.1a to 4.0
Hi,
the process can always be found @www.kentico.com page. When logged on navigate to Download and then to the Upgrades section or follow this link http://www.kentico.com/Download/Upgrades.aspx

Some of the custom staff needs to be updated to work properly but documents will persist. More information can be found in the upgrade help file.

btw; When I made registration on the devnet page I wasn't able to log with this new account into kentico.com page. Even after reseting the password system won't let me log on. This is weird:(

Hi,

thank you for answering about upgrades.

Regards your issue with log on: Could you please check unless anything adds a space in the end while copying your password or in the URL while logging in?

Best regards,

Helena,

No way.
You should consider trying it by yourself it doesn't work.
Not even the password forget function work properly - yes it sends me the password - but the password doesnt work.

I have made an account asdf with the same password (here on devnet) - I can NOT log into the kentico.com account section. If I log off - I can NOT log on again (maybe the password is too short?)

Hi,

Could you please tell me how you ensured that the user name is ‘asdf’? By default it is your e-mail address and it is not changeable.

Best regards,

Hello, I feel embarrassed you are right I thought username stands for firstname and username = email:) So its ok now thank you.
But I would never say "username = email" anyway
