Minimal deployment < 100 MB possible?
What exactly should I deploy to a live site? I am not about to copy 100MB to the shared hosting, seeing how it's absolutley filled with useless stuff that only serves as examples. If

I don't make a blog/forum/e-commerce site, could I just get the EXACT files necessary to run MY site, without all the files to run YOUR example sites on the hosting server?

Either a list of stuff that can be deleted or a list of stuff that must be included would be great.

Thanks!

RE:Minimal deployment < 100 MB possible?
Hi,

Ok, for you are not mandatory some files from E-commerce and forums and blogs, but some others are using them, others are using another combination of modules. So, in general it is not possible to create such a detailed list for every option.

Moreover, the 100MB is not that much. For example only installation of SiteCore has more than 700MB.

You need to specify what you do not want to use and you won't use it in the future, and you can remove the web parts, page templates and the modules as you need to, but be careful with it since some modules can use controls from another one. In the future we are planning better module separation, therefore there is new folder structure in CMSModules folder.

Good to hear, but what is the current CMSModules folder then? Is it not yet operational?

RE:Minimal deployment < 100 MB possible?
Hi,

If you will take a look to this folder, you will see that there are files and controls for all the modules - newsletters, e-commerce, forums, reporting, polls etc. So, it is mandatory now if you are using the modules. The folder structure was changed as a preparation for future module separation. The separation is very difficult process and it cannot be done within one version.
