As there is nothing special on kentico you will only need to perfrom the following tasks:

1. Prepare your destination server (set up IIS, asp.net, SQL
2. Copy all files from your web to a new server
3. Create a backup of your DB and restore it on your new server. Make sure you have the same user created (or create a new one)
4. Redirect DNS - and you are done.

In other word - juct copy the files and database:)

I wouldn't think this would be a prefered way to move a site from a dev environment to a production environment. Im OK with performing a backup of Dev SQL DB then restoring tables to your production site. However when you copy your site folders over to a production you would have issues. Web.config has the dev DB info, so I would assume this needs updated. Then if your production site alias is different al the SQL statements would break. How successfull was you with doing the export and import by performing your steps stated?
