Media Library
Hi

Can anyone clarify that media library files are not physically imported into the database but refereced back to source. ie - previously I uploaded many image files to the CMS and stored in folders. I realise this action causes my DB to run very slowly and thus decided to link to a folder/files on my server so that the files are not in KenticoCMS just linked.

Therefore does the Media Library act in the sameway or will it increase DB size?

Any answers welcome

Chris

RE:Media Library
stored in database is not required.you can change the values that unchecked store files in database

RE:Media Library
Ok - so if I uncheck the tab in settings/files/store files in database where do the uploaded files go?

In media library it seems it is a link to the server stored files and not in the database - is this correct?

RE:Media Library
Hi,

You can find more information in the File management document and also in document describing the file storage.

To explain it, above documents are applied for images used as attachment or file documents.

The files in media library are always stored on disk. In the DB is imported only information about these files - path, GUID, permissions. The binary data are not imported.
