SMTP-Mailadress
After defining the SMTP-Server adress, I've tried to send me an email, but nothing happens. The SMTP server adress is definitely ok, because on the server runs another system which uses the same mail server. What could be wrong and how can I make sure it works? How can I test it (perhaps I've maked a mistake)?

RE:SMTP-Mailadress
Hello,

Could you please try to send e-mail from 'SiteManager -> Administration -> System -> E-mail' section for testing purpose? Please make sure to specify correct 'from' address as some SMTP servers don't send email with non-existing 'from' e-mail address.

Best Regards,

Martin Dobsicek

Thank you, it works!
But the sent mails are always marked as spam. Any idea how to avoid this?

Hi,

the spam filter depends on receiver’s background. The sender’s server could be for example on a blacklist. You could check some public blacklists here: http://www.mxtoolbox.com/blacklists.aspx There could be also an internal list or other rule on receiver’s spam filter.

RE:SMTP-Mailadress
I have a similar problem where mail is sent via the SiteManager -> Administration -> System -> E-mail go through but any e-mail sent through other modules (e.g. error notifications, "send a friend") seems to be caught up in the e-mail queue when I have that setting turned on. (When e-mail queue is off, the e-mails go through immediately.)

When I look at the queue, the status of all the e-mails is "Waiting."

How do I get the queue to send e-mails automatically without having the hit the "Resend" button in Site Manager > Administration > E-mail queue > E-mail queue?

RE:SMTP-Mailadress
Hi,

Could you please check if the scheduler is running? In Site Manager -> Administration -> Scheduled tasks. The e-mails should be send automatically. Also, please check the event log for any error related to scheduler.

If there are errors like "unable to connect to remote server" or "404 page not found", please check if you are able to access the /CMSPages/scheduler.aspx site. Moreover, scheduler is using the Site Domain name setting which is without "www", so your server IIS and/or DNS should be configured to handle the request without "www", so the server can see itself.
