Custom Document Types

Hi, I'm rather new to Kentico and I tried to make a custom document type (as described in de devguide). Everything when well in the site manager but in the desk manager I cannot do much with the new type. I thought that I could select the custom document type when I selectec 'new' in the content tab of the desk manager. But I cannot see the custom document type. I can only configure the webpart (article repeater) so that is accepts the custom document type. But how can I create an instance of the custom document type?

Any thoughts would be appreciated....

Hi,

Could you please go to Site Manager -> Development -> Document types and edit your custom type? On the Sites tab, please make sure that this type is assigned to appropriate site.
Moreover, if you are trying to create the document of this custom type, lets say under document of type X, please go also to the Document types section in Site Manager, edit the X document type and check the Child types tab - you need to allow your custom type to be a child for the type X.

Hi Juraj, thanks for your quick reply but unfortunately nothing changes. I only checked a child type (in my case article) but still cannot make documents of the custom type sbvr-article. I'm trying to create the document type sbvr-article which inheretes from the default type article. The documents of the custom sbvr-article should then have additional properties that can be set by the sbvr article editor. I thought the correct (and most straight forward way) would be to define a custom document type but maybe there are other ways?
