Re-writting urls
Hi Forum readers,

I have a simple question, is it possible to re-write the URL's so instead of:

http://<sitename>/widgets.aspx or http://<sitename>/widgets

It produces:

http://<sitename>/widgets/

Like what default documents do in standard IIS web folders?

Regards,

Sahus Pilwal

RE:Re-writting urls
Hi forum readers,

I tried changing the Friendly URL Extension setting in Site Manager > Settings > URLS to:

/

that creates the desired effect but the pages error "The page cannot be found"

Any ideas how to get this working! Appreciate anyone's feedback.

Kind regards,

Sahus Pilwal

RE:Re-writting urls
Hi,

The handling of the trailing slash is not natively supported. But if you are interested I can send you some documentation I got from one of our customers for IIS7, but I was not able to run it according to it, therefore there is no KB article on this yet - not enough time to test it more deeply.

RE:Re-writting urls
Hi Juraj,

Yes could you please send me the documentation to my e-mail addresss below. Also could you please add this to the suggestions for URL re-writing as our SEO team have found using the trailing slash "/" works well as does standard <sitename>/widgets.aspx. But using <sitename>/widgets extentionless URL's are not as important. For readers of this thread this is just our opinion & not factual.

Many thanks for your help Juraj.

Kind regards,
