Is it possibile to "bind" two webparts so that they are both hidden as one webpart has no records to show?

Hello,

You can create copy of one of web parts, put the control from second web part into this copy and ensure "binding" in code-behind of it. You can inspire by code of original web parts that you can find in ~\CMSWebParts folder.
