Web Analytics Path
Hi,

When web analytics is enabled, log files will be created and stored in "/App_Data/CMSModules/WebAnalytics". Is there anyway I can change this path outside the KenticoCMS webproject folder?

Cheers,
Matt

RE:Web Analytics Path
Hi Matt,

Unfortunately, this path is hard-coded in the system and can't be set/changed.

Best Regards,

RE:Web Analytics Path
Hi Martin,

Thanks for your reply.

Since my Kentico CMS was compiled with Cruise Control which will produce different copies of code every time I force a build. In this case, it brings up 2 small issues for the web analytics module.

1. I need to grant permission to the App_data folder for the kentico user role every time I force a build.
2. Make sure all log files have been processed in a existing build before I switch to a new one.

If the web analytics module could reference an external folder, these 2 issues would be resolved immediately. Please consider to add this path as a web config parameter in the future releases.

Cheers,
Matt

RE:Web Analytics Path
Hi Matt,

it sounds quite logical to have a possibility to configure some external folder for log files, e.g. by web.config key. Our management will consider your requirement.
Thank you for your suggestion.

Zdenek C.
