'My Account' webpart - Notifications
At the moment in the notifications section of this webpart it displays the event name of the notification in the following format - Content subscription: Path='/url path' Types='name of document type' Action='createdoc' .

This isn't much good and isn't very user friendly. To the average user this pretty much means nothing. Is it possible to display the event name in a more user friendly format, i.e. the template name of the notifiication, so the user knows exactly what they are subscribed to? At the moment the default format is stopping me from having this option on our site.

Many thanks for any help.

RE:'My Account' webpart - Notifications
Hello,

do you mean the Notification tab and subscription to blog posts? Or any other subscriptions?

Best regards,

Hi Helena,

It's for the notifications, e.g. when content is changed on the site, not other subscriptions like newsletters.

Thanks,

Darren

Hi Darren,

I am still not sure how you enable the content notification. Do you mean Blog post subscription or something else? Could you please explain me it? Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Hi Helena,

It's the notifications subscription to content changes. It's enabled in the webpart as per below.

This activates the notifications tab. This is how the event name looks on display

Hi Darren,

thank you for your reply and screenshots.

However, these things are clear for me. The thing I do not know is where you enabled the content notification. You need to configure somewhere that you will see notification of content changes on the notification tab. I suppose you subscribed to some blog posts (you see some blog posts on Subscriptions tab in Blog post subscriptions section and the notification on Notification tab relates to those blog posts). Is it your case?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Best regards,
Helena Grulichova

Sorry, yes I have set up a document type for our magazines, and display them with a repeater. I put the content subscription webpart on that page to notify the user who subscribes to it when a new magazine has been posted (create document).

Hi Darren,

thank you for explanation. It is clear for me now:-)

You may change the string in Content subscription web part Properties:
e.g. Create event display name.

If you leave it blank it uses the string you mentioned. If you add a value it will display it as the Event name on the Notification tab of My account web part.
