Searching content

I know I must be missing something. But I can not get the Search nor Smart Search search box to do a wild card search without manually typing in a * at the end of my query.

I have a few pages (that happen to be products) That are named PV123, PV234, ...

When I search by typing in "PV" no results are returned.

When I search by typing in "PV*" all the results are returned correctly.

Ive checked out the Query's in the Root document type and they all seem to be correctly wrapped with '%' + Expression +'%' but it doesn't work.

Any tips to get wild card / partial word searching to work ?

Hi,

It depends also on the analyzer which is used for the smart search index. This behavior is correct since you are searching for "PV" word and it is different from "PV123". Therefore you need to use "*". We plan in the future to add support for any analyzer which works with Lucene.Net, so also the variations of words will be searched.
