Smart Search
I am having a problem creating a smart search index on a site. I create the index ok but it never builds properly. It only gets through a few documents before stopping and just sitting in a rebuilding state.

Reading an earlier post I have given Network Service full authority on the App_Data folder but still no luck. I have used process monitor and I’m getting sharing violations in the smart search folder but I can’t work out why. The event details are below.

Has anyone had the same problem or can help?

Nick

RE:Smart Search
I opened up rights to everyone and left it to build for ten hours and that seemed to work.

RE:Smart Search
Hi,

How many items are in your CMS to be indexed? The indexing process is can take longer time if there are many thousands of items and it seems that in this case the process of indexing was killed or that there were some issues during its execution.

Best regards,
Juraj Ondrus

RE:Smart Search
There were 16,000 items to be indexed. I guess I was just not patient enough but the number of indexed documents seemed to stop and I believed that it had failed. It all seems ok now.
