Position Summary:
As a part of an Agile development team, the Junior Ruby on Rails Developer is expected to write elegant code in Ruby, HTML/CSS and Javascript.

The ideal candidate will constantly search for the ways of improving the product by incorporating feedback from customers, product owners, and members of the development team.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, integrate, and maintain Ruby on Rails and Javascript based components.
Write code in Ruby, HTML/CSS, and Javascript.
Quickly identify bugs and fix them.
Closely interact with the development team to contribute to the high quality of the product.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Proficient in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL. Knowledge of other relational databases is a plus
Hands on experience in Javascript, CSS, web services (i.e. REST) and popular Web 2.0 technologies
Working knowledge of object-oriented analysis, design patters, refactoring, and unit testing
Solid understanding of code manipulation and optimization issues, basic knowledge of the MVC model
Prior experience working with Agile practices (Scrum, Extreme Programming, Pair Programming)
Strong knowledge of the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
Excellent analytical and communication skills and acute attention to detail
Possess ability to learn and adapt to complex development environments
