User Permission Matrix is empty
I have created new document type (s) which then, are exported and imported to a new box. They were ok on the old box but when try to view "Administration > Permission" via the cmsdesk. For those new document types, the permission matrix is empty. So we can't select any Roles.

Any solutions?

RE:User Permission Matrix is empty
Hi,

Unfortunately, this seems to be a bug in the Kentico CMS 3.0 version. I'm very sorry for this inconvenience. When exporting document types from Kentico CMS 3.0, permissions to this document types are not exported. This issue has been fixed in the new version of Kentico CMS (3.1)

General solution:
1.) Before exporting any document type from Kentico CMS 3.0, please upgrade to Kentico CMS 3.1.
2.) You can manually fix this issue by going to Kentico CMS database -> CMS_Permission table and adding permission entries.

Best Regards,
Miroslav Remias

RE:User Permission Matrix is empty
I am running 3.1a and have run into a similar problem on a site I just imported.
The site was exported without including any permissions in the export.
On the imported site the Tools tab in CMSDesk is empty
Further, the permissions matrix for modules in CMSSiteManager – Administration – Permissions is empty, so I cannot enable permissions.

Looking at the DB:
cms_permission does not have a siteid field, so I have no idea what could be missing there
cms_role does have a siteID field, but this is populated with 5 records which look the same as for other sites.

RE:User Permission Matrix is empty
In case anyone else runs into this,
Boris responded to my ticket on this with the following solution:
Your problem was, that the modules weren't added to the sites.
We added them in CMS Site manager -> Development -> Modules -> Edit module -> Sites.
The permission matrix disappearance is caused by not selecting the modules by the export/import.
