Friendly URL Extension, handler404.aspx & RequiresSSL
Hello,

I have the following issue (version 3.1a). I don't want to use extensions on the site, so "Friendly URL Extension" is set blank. In IIS I have configured handler404.aspx as the 404 handler. This works fine with 'normal' pages. But I have a problem when the page I am on is http and I link to a RequiresSSL-page. The url the the browser appears as

https://www.blah.com/cmspages/handler404.aspx?404;http://www.blah.com:80/thisisafolder/thisisapage

instead of

https://www.blah.com:80/thisisafolder/thisisapage

This only happens when the CMS internally moves from http to https.

I tried replacing the handler404 with our internal errorpage. I can make it work but it involves a lot of overhead to get the required information. I would prefer using the existin Kentico functionality.

Any idea which setting I might have overlooked?

Hi,

Unfortunately this is a known bug in 3.1a version. I am sorry for this inconvenience. This bug was fixed in v4.0. The upgrade is recommended.

Best Regards,

Can you have a friendly URL for just one page or does it have to be the entire site in this version?

Hi,

Multiple document URL aliases and extensions were added in newer versions (4.x), so I am afraid but it is not possible in 3.x version and you will need to upgrade to newer version.
