Personalize menu webpart with permissions and roles
How can I personalize the main menu so some menu options are hidden until the user logs in? I have a created a new page and restricted permissions to a specific role. Anonymous users cannot access this page, but it still appears in the menu. Selecting the menu option prompts the user to login. I want to skip this step and just hide the menu option until the user logs in and is a member of the role with access permissions to the page.

RE:Personalize menu webpart with permissions and roles
Hi,

Could you please try to open the menu web part configuration and check the box "Check permissions"?

Moreover, here you can find more information - http://www.kentico.com/docs/devguide/secured_web_site_areas.htm

RE:Personalize menu webpart with permissions and roles
That works!

- Under CMS Site Manager / Development / Web Parts / CMSMENU I added the Check Permissions field.
- Under CMS Desk I modified the CMSWeb part and enabled "Check Permissions"
- For each Page Menu that I wanted to appear for Anonymous users on the menu I added the Public Users Role and grant Read permissions.

I was missing the last step and the menu was empty. Thanks.

RE:Personalize menu webpart with permissions and roles
Hi,

I am happy that it helped.

The Check permissions box is available in all web parts by default and it is not needed to add it again.
