Web parts in Master Page
I am trying to understand how the Master Page concept works within Kentico. I edited the master page on my root document to contain header and footer content. I also added a cmswebpartzone in the header so that I could add a cmssearchbox. Is this the correct approach? The problem I see is that when I create a new sub page, the header and footer are duplicated as in this example http://stage.ricochetpartnes.com/News.aspx. I played around with the inheritance until I got it to work on another page but I am still confused about this approach.

RE:Web parts in Master Page
Hi,

I assume that the page placed underneath the root document has the same page template (Properties -> Template). If yes, you need to change it to some other template because you are using a page layout as a child of the same layout with a page placeholder web part.

Here you can find more information about visual inheritance - http://www.kentico.com/docs/devguide/visual_inheritance.htm
