Can't close edit mode
More and more often I'm not being able to close the edit mode on my webpages. I log out but everything stays in edit mode and clicking on close does nothing but a refresh. The only way I can rectify it is to delete all my temp internet files. This only effects IE, Firefox is fine.

Anyone else had this problem?

RE:Can't close edit mode
Hi,
Could you please check the cookies in the IE browser? It seems that for some reason they are not updated correctly. Could you please post here the values of the cookies before and after you log out from the CMS?

Thank you.

Both look the same to me.The problem didn't occur this time so I'm not sure if this is a good example? It doesn't happen all the time but probably at least once a day.

Hi,

Thank you for these details. It seems that now the cookies were changed correctly. Could you please watch this if it will occur again? Moreover, in the IE browser in the tools you can delete the cookies. After this it should be working fine.

Are you using any plugins in the IE? For example some toolbars - Google, Yahoo, etc. If yes, could you please try to disable them and try to log out?

Best Regards,

RE:Can't close edit mode
I am finding this issue as well, although it's random and it happens for regular users logged into the site.

If the user clicks on logoff, sometimes, but not always, and regularly enough that it's a problem, the page will simply refresh and not log out the person.

RE:Can't close edit mode
Hi,

Which version of Kentico CMS do you use? This is pretty old thread.
Are you using extension less URLs?
Which pipeline mode is used for your application pool in IIS and which version of IIS do you use?
Does this happen in all browsers?

Best regards,

RE:Can't close edit mode
We're using v5.5.4300 R2.

Extensionless URL's, I thought we were, but it doesn't look like it. Removing the .aspx causes a 404. Where can I set that? In SEO & URL's, extensionless URL's are set to .aspx.
I'll have to look into the iis, it's on a client machine.

RE:Can't close edit mode
Hi,

Please, follow the documentation on how to setup the IIS and CMS in order to support extension-less URLs. I think this might be the issue. However, if it will persist, could you please check e.g. with FireBug or Fiddler what requests are made when the Close button is clicked to see what exactly is going on?
