Site won't start - 404.17 error
Greetings,
I installed Kentico 6SP1 and all progressed smoothly through the installation. At the very end - the installer gives a dialogue letting you know the installation has completed and a link to click to open the site. When I clicked the link, I received a 404.17 error. Site won't start and I am not able to get into CMS Desk. Any ideas?
Thanks
Mike

I am not sure if the ApplicationPool is running. I am not at that machine and I will check it this evening. What should Pipeline Mode be set to?

Thanks

Hello,

Please let us know what you find once you get the chance to check. The Pipeline mode should be Integrated.

Regards,
Sandro

RE:Site won't start - 404.17 error
Hello,

Thank you for the confirmation. Please try to:

Locate your App Pool and Right Click
Select Basic Settings
Select your current .Net Framework Version
Restart the App Pool

If this doesn't fix it, it may be an issue with the handler mappings. You may have to run regiis with the -i option.

RE:Site won't start - 404.17 error
The 404.17 error is gone - I now have a 500.19 error which is a common error on IIS under Windows 7. I found info on another thread in this forum covering that topic. This thread can now be closed. Thanks everyone for your support with this issue.
