Ajax ScriptManager
Hi All,

In v3.1a

When using the portal templates I saw that ScriptManager is included everywhere.

ref : /CMSPages/PortalTemplate.aspx

<asp:ScriptManager ID="manScript" runat="server" />

I understand that by design you might want to have the ScriptManager "ON" since you don't know whether the client will use it or not.

But my suggestion is can you add a setting of some sort that would enable us to decide if we want the SM in the portal template page.

It can be enabled by default for backward compatibility. I just need to have an option to disable ajax support when i don't need ajax and save script injection and bandwidth.

Thanks

SL

RE:Ajax ScriptManager
Hi,

Thank you for your suggestions. We will consider some kind of setting to the future versions.

Now, you can just comment out the Script Manager tag in the portal template file.

RE:Ajax ScriptManager
Hi,

That's already what I did. The problem is when I will have multiple sites that use this template and one of them will require Ajax to be enabled.

Thanks.

RE:Ajax ScriptManager
Hi,

In this case you need to use separate instances of Kentico CMS. The portal engine pages are using this one template as the master page.

I hope our developers will find a solution for this and will create some setting for this in future versions.
