new install
Hello, Just installed, quick questions.

to change the layout of the main page template is done with vs2008? I havent seen in the desk/site admin area to change what webparts are displayed on the main page.

Is the changes to the site all from the webbase, or do we need to mod from code?

Thanks

Frank

RE:new install
Hi Frank,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'main page template'. But I suppose you mean 'master page'. If so, you can manage its content in: 'CMS Desk -> Content -> <root> -> Design tab'.
You can fully utilize all advantages of Portal engine approach. For more info please see Developer's Guide: http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/editing_the_master_page.htm

Best regards

RE:new install
Hi again,

Free version of Kentico CMS has no limitation for using Portal engine or ASPX template approach. Only limitations are mentioned here: http://www.kentico.com/Download/Free-edition.aspx

It seems that you've started working with ASPX templates. You may need to use Portal engine approach in order you could see 'Design' tab. Please go to: 'CMS Site Manager -> Sites -> New site wizard'. Then please follow instructions in Developer's Guide: http://devnet.kentico.com/docs/devguide/new_site_wizard.htm

This procedure should create site using Portal engine.

Best Regards
