Delete action causes server error
Hi there,

I have installed the free edition of Kentico CMS as a proof of concept for future commercial websites.

Everything has run smoothly so far, except that I cannot delete pages from the site. When I select the page I wish to remove, and click the delete item in the action menu, I get the following error:

Server Error
404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

Can you please tell me what file or directory may be missing? Otherwise, how can I go about uninstalling Kentico from the production server (in a shared environment, I do not have direct control over the server), and reinstall from scratch?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

RE:Delete action causes server error
Hi,

Where are your files stored? Are you using "Store files in file system" setting? It is possible that some of the page menu item has got a teaser image which was deleted from the disk.

When you get this error, could you please right click on the frame and display the frame info - what is the URL of that frame?

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,

Hi Juraj, thanks for your reply.

I am storing the files in the database - should I be storing them in the file system?

Not sure if it helps, but I ran a file test through admin/system/files/test files and all tests were ok. I have also successfully saved virtual objects to the disk.

The URL of the frame is domain.com/CMSDesk/Content/documentframeset.aspx?action=delete&nodeid=45

Cheers,
Ryan

RE:Delete action causes server error
Hi again,

This is very strange, could you please send us an e-mail message to support@kentico.com with access credentials to your CMS so we can see the issue?
If the access is not possible, could you please send us the site export (http://www.kentico.com/docs/devguide/exporting_a_site.htm)?

Best Regards,
