site migration question
My process for developing sites is to develop it on my localhost and then when I complete it, I move it onto my external host's server. After I do that, I have go back into my cmsdesk and relink all images and links. I have set my "CMSWebApplicationVirtualPath", thinking this URL rewrite support would do the trick, but when I change it, I still have to relink everything in the cmsdesk. Is there a process or action I can take to save myself from having to go through the site and relink each time I deploy a new site?

Thanks,
forrester

Re: site migration question
Hello,

Thank you for your message. We recommend that you develop the local web site also in the root of the web server so that there are no differences in the URLs.

Re: site migration question
I have a SQL Script that I can run on the CONTENT_MenuItem table that will strip out the /[subdomain]/ part of the path in the MenuItemPageContent field. I've used it where the staging server (used by the client to enter ALL the site content) wasn't at root level. It fixed all the paths to files created by the users in the WYSIWYG editor instantly!

Email me at sharon @ my website and I'll send it to you.

Regards,
Sharon.
