cms desk showing "empty ASPX file"
I just deployed some new files to my beta web server. Now, when I go into CMS Desk and select a page in the Site view, rather than seeing the editable page, I see, "This is an empty ASPX file. It's used by the URL rewriting engine. Please do not remove it." This is the default.aspx placeholder file. Why am I seeing this rather than the correct page?

FYI, I'm running 1.9.2390 on a Windows 2003 server.

Re: cms desk showing "empty ASPX file"
To clarify...

It looks like moving the bin directory (or even just the dll for the web site) into a working version of my site causes this problem.

Any attempt to view a CMS managed page yields the default.aspx place holder instead of the managed content.

Hello,

could you please post here your appSettings values in web.config on your server?

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Re: cms desk showing "empty ASPX file"
We have since resolved this issue. Sorry for not updating the thread.

We had added some new pages that relied on a third party component (Crystal Reports). We discovered that the Kentico quit serving up managed content when we moved the web site dll onto the server. The web site dll was failing (quietly, with no failure messages) because of a problem with Crystal and since that same dll contained the Kentico compilation, Kentico was not running.

Long story short, if the Kentico dll does not run, the place holder pages show up rather than managed content. Good information for others who might see this symptom.
