I am a web developper and find Kentico a really powerful solution.
The way the CMS is structured permits a very good flexibility, but I am sure there are best practices that would help us all sharing.
Examples :
- using a control as a header, footer
- using absolute divs
- transformations vs. templates
- practices for each control
- using API vs. Controls
- self-made controls...
