Securing a Section with SSL

How do you secure a section of the site (or individual pages) with SSL in Kentico CMS?

For example, our website will have a members area, and under that area we would like pages to use SSL transport. Logon would also be with SSL.

Thanks in advance,
Grant.

Re: Securing a Section with SSL
Hi Grant,

Thank you for your message. You woul need to set up SSL for required site section on your IIS server and then ensure that all links leading to the secured section are prefixed with https:// protocol.

How do you prefix links in the Kentico CMS Menu with https?

Thanks,

Re: Securing a Section with SSL
Hi Grant,

if you need to create an SSL link in the CMSMenu control, you need to define the menu item as "URL redirection" instead of "page template" and redirect user to some sub-page that contains the required content. It will ensure that the menu control contains a link to https:// protocol.

In some of the 2.x version, we plan to add support for defining the https protocol for every document so that the links are automatically prefixed with https://.

Re: Securing a Section with SSL
We look forward to the version 2.0 beta, but nice to know there's a workaround for the time being.

Many thanks,
Grant.

RE:Re: Securing a Section with SSL
Where do I define the menu item as a "URL redirection" instead of "page template"? Is this available on the TreeMenu control as well?

Thank you,

dp
