Re: Kentico.CMS.DataProviderOLEDB.dll?
Hello,

Thank you for your message. Kentico CMS was designed as a three-tiered system that can generally support various database engines. However, the connectors to other database engines (like the DataProviderOLEDB) are currently not implemented.

We plan to support MySQL, Oracle or some other engine if there are enough clients who request that. The reason is that we would have to rewrite most of the SQL queries for engine-specific SQL syntax and test every version on several platforms, which is extremely time consuming.

We do not plan to support MS Access due to the limited performance and stability of MS Access in the web environment.

Best Regards,

Hi,
Yes, I think Kentico should support more than one database, like MySQL which is cheap for hosting.

thanks
