Small Business License
I'm pretty new to Kentico and I'm really hooked on the ease of use and flexibility. What concerns me is the limitations on the free and professional license. I think the free one should be limited but it needs a little more room for the organization getting their feet wet. But when you do bump up to be able to do a 100 products and a thousand users, you shouldn't have to go clear to the $2K product. I think you really have a great product going and the low end would allow you to pull in a lot more people. Removing support for the entry level products would make sense.

Thanks for listening or reading.

Hello,

We considered this option, but there wasn't enough demand on such an edition. I would suggest you to read the following article.

RE:Small Business License
I have read that blog entry and comments. I actually read a lot out here. I would suggest that perhaps a lot of people do not read that much our here if you look at the number of posts. Look, I want Kentico to prosper. I'm trying to adopt it as the main CMS I use in my work. For that to be a good move, I need to be able to use it for more customers and I need Kentico to be an ongoing concern. A healthy user community is another really good thing to have as well.

So I don't see a lot to lose with this kind of lower entry level system as long as Kentico doesn't give away all of the support as well.

Thanks for your response and engaging.

Hi Rod,

Thank you for your feedback. We really considered all options of Small Business Edition, but we concluded that it doesn't align with our strategy for now.

RE:Small Business License
As I missed the original poll on this issue, I'd just like to add that I'm agree completely with Rod - a Small Business Edition for under $1000 would be just what I need; as a startup I can't justify the cost of the Enterprise edition I would need to produce e-commerce sites and I will now be forced to look elsewhere for a CMS. I'd happily forego support and any number of additional modules in return for more than 10 products in the e-commerce module.

Jonathan
