Can't quite get my site to work
I went through the install process with no hassle at all. But I can't quite seem to get it to work with IIS on my Server 2003 R2 box. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi,

Could you please describe us your issue with more details? Are you getting any errors? If yes, could you please send us the text of the message? More details would be appreciated. Thank you.

RE:Can't quite get my site to work
Well I know since I'm a new user to Kentico and I know I will have a small learning curve. I went through and used Visual Studio 2008 to build it and then moved it to my server. Once I did that, I went though and setup my IIS for it. After that, I try to go to my test site, which is qwertytech (dot) no-ip (dot) net . Whenever I try to go to my site through the URL or through localhost, I don't see anything. My server is running Server 2003 R2 with IIS 6.0 . I would greatly appreciate any help.

RE:Can't quite get my site to work
Hi,

I am not able to view this web site. Could you please check if the DNS records are set properly? Moreover, could you please create a simple html page and place it e.g. to the CMSPages folder and try to view it in a browser to see if the IIS is set up correctly?

If the problem remains, could you please send us as many details as possible about the IIS settings?

Best Regards,

RE:Can't quite get my site to work
Excuse me for jumping in here, but I think your issue is related to permissions on your server. Currently, navigating to the root http://qwertytech(dot)no-ip(dot)biz/ is throwing the error:

The current identity (NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE) does not have write access to 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files'.

From cmd prompt in the framework directory on your server(c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.507s7) run:

aspnet_regiis -ga "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE"

NOTE: -ga = grant access.

RE:Can't quite get my site to work
First off, sorry for the multiple posts of the same thing. My browser was auto refreshing and it reposted a few times before I noticed.

Well I got it working. The only thing I have to ask now is how to get rid of the grey bar at the top of the site telling you what your default password is.

Thanks.

RE:Can't quite get my site to work
Hi,

If you are using Portal engine templates, please click on the root document (master) and on the design tab you will see a web part named "txtTrialInfo" - you need to remove it.

If you are using ASPX templates please open the Root.Master file and remove appropriate DIV tag from it and save the changes.
