The following settings can be entered when creating a newsletter:

 

Newsletter display name

Name of the newsletter that is displayed to users.

Newsletter name

Name of the newsletter that is used as an identifier in web part properties, URLs and the API. You can leave the (automatic) option to have the system generate an appropriate code name based on the display name.

Subscription confirmation

Template used for subscription confirmation e-mails.

Unsubscription confirmation

Template used for unsubscription confirmation e-mails.

Sender name

Name of the sender used in newsletter e-mails. For template-based newsletters, it is possible to override this value for individual issues and set a different sender name.

Sender e-mail

E-mail address which is set as the sender in the e-mails sent as part of the newsletter. For template-based newsletters, it is possible to override the sender e-mail address for individual issues.

 

You can choose one of the two available newsletter types:

 

Template-based newsletter - also referred to as static newsletters. Every issue is written and sent out manually. The content is based on predefined templates. You can choose the newsletter's main template through the Newsletter template property, but it is also possible to assign other templates at a later time.

Dynamic newsletter - the e-mails are sent out to all subscribers at a specified interval. The content is dynamically taken from a specified web page. Dynamic newsletters have the following additional settings:

 

Source page URL

The URL of the page that will be contained in the newsletter, such as for example http://www.kentico.com. The Check Server availability button (CheckServer) checks if the page with the entered URL is available and displays the result.

Schedule mail-outs

If enabled, the newsletter is automatically sent as defined by the following settings.

Period

Sets the time interval between new issues of the newsletter.

Start time

The date and time when the newsletter will start being sent.

Every

The amount of time periods defined in the Period field between new newsletter issues.

Between

The time interval during which newsletter issues are sent. Only available for Minute and Hour Period settings.

Days

The days on which newsletter issues are sent.

Day/The

The day of the month(s) on which newsletter issues are sent. Only available for the Month Period setting.
