This web.config section alters the Kentico web application HTML responses in order to change the source or href paths of assets to use a Content Delivery Network (CDN) without having to change content manually or modifying any /Admin settings.


The paths this section can alter are those in your media library and print CSS file. You can add other source sections or files that need this treatment as well.

This rewrite section requires your IIS server to have the IIS URL Rewrite 2.0 module loaded.  You can install the IIS module from

This change does not synchronize your files with your CDN.

This change includes a cannonical rewrite rule for your main domain. This inbound rule isn't required for the outbound CDN one to function. It is included to depict you can use both, inbound and outbound rules, simultaneously.
