Site import issue with free license

Andrew Campkin asked on October 14, 2016 00:43

We are using a free license while we carry out initial evaluation and development of a platform to create customer websites. We are having issues with importing sites from a developer's PC onto a server (or even between developer installations). The import process stops at the unpacking step, and reviewing the event logs show a license error.

The web farm feature has not been configured in any way so I am unsure why this is happening. We are using version 9.0.

Can I ask anyone for clarification about how to solve this issue? The development environment is also using the same free license, so naturally I would expect an export / import process to work without any issue. I have tried not selecting global objects in the export step but this has made no difference.

Can anyone comment on the viability of the built in export / import process for deploying new and updated sites? Will these issues just go away once we have a paid license?

You have something enabled in your development environment that will not run under the free license. Certain modules have tie-ins to others.
