Manage Roles and Permissions for user

giang le asked on March 9, 2016 10:40

Hi all,

Today, I have created a new user with Privilege level = "Administrator" and Roles = "My Roles", however, when i access to admin page by this user, I only saw the "Email Templates" module althought we checked the custom table, css style sheet... on UI personalization, Permissions in My Roles.

How to allow an administrator or editor access to Development modules?

Thanks!

Check if your user is assigned to appropriate site. Administrator, by default, should have access almost everywhere, unless you change this. Do you see Email templates application on the dashboard? What about left hand side pane (click Kentico logo at top left corner)? Do you see any other apps there?

I have already assigned all sites for this user. I can see other apps in there (Event log, Pages, Media Libraries...). I can see Email templates on the dashboard.

We can not modify UI personalization of administrator user, right? We tried to remove a roles of administrator but this user still can see almost apps (except Development apps).

An Editor (Privilege level = "Editor" ) user can not access any Development apps, right?

How to setup a user that only can access to the following apps (custom tables, CSS stylesheets, Page templates, Settings, Event log, Pages, Media libraries, etc).

You need to assign user to have Global Administrator Privilege level. You'll need to use the administrator account, or another account that already has Global Privilege. It's on the General Tab when editing a user.

Alternatively, you can set the UserIsGlobalAdministrator = 1 in the cms_user table of the Kentico database.
