Email Campaign - Setting Default Contact Values

We are sending an email marketing campaign using Kentico 8.2 EMS Online Marketing feature. In the email we are creating a link that takes the user to an online form to update their Contact preferences. The form fields are mapped to the appropriate fields in the Contact section. However, when we send the email and the contact modifies a value in the form, it does not change the value in the contact record. When we check the SQL table, the ContactLastModified date is not updated either.

Can anyone help with telling me how an online form with mapped fields can properly write back to the contact record?
