Disabling sending payment recived notifications

I would like only to send a thank you note after ordering. Payment is processed by a 3rd party, and they get an e-mail from them. How can I disable it? Will deleting the template work without raising errors?

to disable it go to Settings -> Ecommerce and in Emials group uncheck "Send payment notification". Also order status change can send email notification, in that case you can disable sending emails for Payment received Order status (Order status-> Edit "Payment received" -> uncheck Send notification) or for all of them.
