Any way to remove a custom element from a module UI?

Kentico Dev asked on November 15, 2019 02:15

I logged into Admin and navigated to:

Modules > Email Marketing > User Interface

Then I hit the + button and added a new element (so I could have a new menu item in the left pane's menu)

But I made a typo and I can't edit or delete it.

How can I modify it now?

Hi Peter,

If you were in the "Email marketing" module when you created the UI element, you must have selected a different module when you created it. It would have had to be a module that was is in custom development mode.

Select another module

To delete the UI element, navigate to it through the module you selected. For example, if you selected "Mike's Test Module", navigate to
Modules > Mike's Test Module > User Interface

Instead of
Modules > Email Marketing > User Interface

After that, you should be able to select the element in the tree, and then click the delete button.

Delete a custom UI element

Mike is correct. The only question I have is why would you remove it? Don't you want just fix a typo?

Navigate UI element like following Mike's instructions and correct the mistake on the General tab.

Thank you both, that worked. Yes, fixing the typo in this case worked, but for future reference I would want to know about deletion as well. In any case, this let me do both as I had added my element to the Custom module. When I navigated to that, I was able change what I needed. Thanks again.
