Document types and categories
Hi,
I'm hoping someone will be able to help with what feels like a stupid question.

Is it possible to add categories to custom document types at the content level i.e.

Can you create a new document type called 'Institution News' add all the usual 'header / synopsis / content / author / image' fields and then add a 'Category' field that links to the website's main category list?

Ideally I would love to have editors selecting 'add new Institution News', entering the article's main content and providing it's category information on the single 'form' tab.

I've been able to find the 'Tag Selector' field type however this is a bit too ad-hoc; we would much rather have the editors constrained to categories, or a selection of predetermined categories, from the site's main category list.

Am I coming at this from the wrong angle? Can categories only be added at the 'Properties > Categories' level?

All help is appreciated.

RE:Document types and categories
Hi David,

you can add a new field to document type and set up it like:

Attribute type: Text
Field type: Multiple categories Selector

Then the editors can choose the categories even on Form tab.
