Top 10 Kentico Websites for November 2012

   —
We are excited to introduce another set of great projects based on Kentico CMS. November was again a successful month with more corporate online presentations and e-shops. So let’s have a look together.
spar.png With more than 850 stores nationwide, SPAR is one of the largest retail groups in South Africa. The newly redesigned website has a clean and contemporary look, making use of responsive design techniques. The content has been re-purposed to be friendlier while integration with Facebook promotes sharing and discussion. Custom-developed components allow media partners to push the latest SPAR specials to the site which are then transformed and published under the relevant stores. Other custom components pull content from various sources so that information is centralized on the main group website. Feedback from both customers and business stakeholders has been extremely positive. The usage statistics affirm this with a significant drop in the average bounce rate and a huge increase in the average time that users spend on the new website.  Notably, the new SPAR home page reports a bounce rate that is a 40% improvement compared to the previous site.

Curve is a leading industrial and product design magazine with a strong global following. The new online magazine (previously built in Drupal) was built in Kentico 7 and takes advantage of a fully responsive frontend. The subscription process is integrated with Salesforce as well as the authentication method, allowing the client to control access to secured subscriber content in Kentico pages from Salesforce. Kentico 7's new Banners module came in handy for the advertising across the site, and we also built an IP address authentication method to allow large organizations like universities to get direct access to subscriber content without logging in.

It is ironic that the Fram Museum website was built in tropical Ghana, as The Fram Museum is built around the world´s strongest wooden ship, the polar ship Fram in Norway, and navigated both the North and South Poles. The site is available in Norwegian and English. Of special interest is the cross-referencing of content between explorers, diaries, web shop items, and other content on the site. Accordion effects are implemented throughout this esthetically pleasing and informative site.
