Let's stay connected

   —

We've redesigned the user's profile page and made it accessible from every place on DevNet.

We're all equal

In the past, only Kentico staff had the option of filling out the "Social" part of their profile, and what's more, only their profiles were actually browsable on the site. We thought that it was a pity and wanted to give all users a chance to present themselves. So we decided to make the profile page universal and let everybody share information about themselves, including Twitter, Facebook and other IDs. Because DevNet is mainly a base meeting point for developers, we've also added Stack Overflow and GitHub.

Profiles are now accessible from both the Articles and Q&A sections. And this is how it looks:

Redesigned user's profile page

To adjust your profile, just go to http://devnet.kentico.com/user-profile and fill in the "Social" section.

5 reasons to complete your profile

  1. It looks nice. You get all the fancy icons!
  2. Others can reach out to you and say "thanks" for answering their question
  3. Or perhaps offer you a new interesting project
  4. You can get new followers on Twitter or attract contributors to your GitHub projects
  5. And maybe, one day, it'll help you to win a competition :)

Let us know in the comments below whether you like the change and what else we can do to make DevNet better.

Hi Dawid,
sorry for delay. It's fixed now.

You're right. We're working on a fix. The problem was on 2 places, sadly...

Hello Petr,
I don't this so. I have updated my Basic information in User profile and there's Predictes. In My public profile I have still Supremo. You can check on my example: http://devnet.kentico.com/users/212503/dawid-jachnik

Hi Dawid,
the "company" field should be fixed now.

Hi Petr,
How are the tests? :)

Petr Svihlik commented on

Hey, Dawid. It's going through our review and testing process at the moment. It'll be deployed soon. :)
Regarding the "position" field - it's a separate issue and we have to investigate the impacts first. But we're definitely looking into it.

Hi Petr,
Any update ? :)

Dawid Jachnik commented on

Also would be nice if I could add my position before my company name :)

Petr Svihlik commented on

Hi Dawid, good remark :) Turns out they are two different fields. We'll look into it and unify them. Thanks for letting us know! I'll post an update here as soon as it's fixed.

Hello Petr,
How can I change the text display next to my first name and last name? Now there's display the company, but not that Company that I set in my user profile in Basic information.

Best regards
