Default scheduled tasks description.

This article is meant to give a brief description of the default scheduled tasks in version 7.0.  You can find these tasks in Site Manager -> Administration -> Scheduled tasks.  Please note: the default task list may vary based on your license key edition
Global Tasks

  • Clean chat online users - Cleans inactive users and support engineer from the chat. Number of seconds needed to be inactive is taken from settings.
  • Clean chat rooms scheduled to delete - Scheduled task which cleans rooms marked for deletion
  • Clean e-mail queue - Deletes expired archived e-mails (manager task).
  • Clean old chat records - Scheduled task which cleans old, unused chat records (rooms, messages, users). Setting how old data should be cleaned is in Settings.
  • Clean old initiated chat requests - Scheduled task which cleans old, unused chat records (rooms, messages, users). Setting how old data should be cleaned is in Settings.
  • Clean unused memory - Class for cleaning unused memory.
  • Delete image editor history - Delete temporary files older than the value specified in web.config
  • Delete inactive contacts - Scheduled task that deletes old contacts. Contacts to be deleted are specified by task data. Each line in task data section represents one rule for contact filtering.
  • Delete old file system cache files - Scheduler task to clean the output file system cache. Deletes all files older than current file system output cache minutes
  • Delete old temporary attachments - Deletes temporary attachments.
  • Delete old temporary upload files - Deletes temporary uploads.
  • E-product reminder - If started as global scheduled task, it sends notifications about expiring e-products on all sites.
  • Execute search tasks - Class used by scheduler to execute the task.
  • Membership reminder - Sends notifications to users about their expiring memberships.
  • Optimize search indexes - Class used by scheduler to execute the task.
  • Process activities log - Processes activities log files.
  • Process analytics log - Processes analytics log files.
  • Process external integration tasks - Processes external integration task synchronization.
  • Process forum thread views - Automatic thread views processing - saving the data to DB.
  • Project task overdue task reminder - If started as a global scheduled task, it sends notifications about expiring e-products on all sites.
  • Recalculate time zone - Recalculates DST time.
  • Remove analytics data - Removes old analytics data, e.g. some report is set to display data for the last year, so data older than one year are cleared.
  • Remove expired sessions - Removes expires sessions from the database.
  • Rented license updater - Renews rented licenses keys.
  • Report subscription sender - Sends reports via email that an editor or admin has subscribed to.
  • Send queued e-mails - Dispatches e-mail messages from the e-mail queue.
  • Send queued newsletters - Resends remaining newsletters in newsletter queue after main thread sender exits unexpectedly.
  • Synchronize web farm changes - Synchronizes tasks for all enabled servers.
  • Update database session - Gets sessions from hashtables and updates the database.
 
Site level tasks

  • Check bounced e-mails - Checks bounced newsletter e-mails.
  • Content publishing - Publishing of the content when using Publish From/To fields.  This task checks whether the document has to be published or unpublished.
  • Content synchronization - Automatic staging worker task.
  • Delete old shopping carts - Deletes old shopping carts.
  • SalesForce replication - A site-related task that executes SalesForce replication.
  • Translation retrieval - Processes translated documents from translation services.
  • Users delete non activated user - Deletes non activated users’ task.
