Best way of using page templates for multiple sites
Hey, I need some guidence and advice on the best way of using page templates.

I have created a website and a set of page templates to use with it (with editable regions etc..). Now my website is complete, I would like to replicate (or clone) this site for other regions of my business, so they can take the website, change the editable text, images etc to suit their market.

What is the best way to handle this with page templates? A template would be using in probably 7 or 8 different sites, but I'm guessing that at the moment, if a user was to edit the text on the page then it would change for all regions too?

RE:Best way of using page templates for multiple sites
Changes would only take place on all pages or sites using a template when the changes are made in the Design tab. Because of this, the best way to handle this is to make all parts of the template that can differ from site to site either be a widget instead of a web part, or be editable text/image etc web parts. Also, make sure anyone with rights to use the design tab knows that changes will affect all sites.

RE:Best way of using page templates for multiple sites
Hi,

That is true, however it depends whether the site will be in the same CMS or not. If not, you can create a web site template and have it in the same way as the other site templates or just export the site and use this export package in other CMS installations.
