Developer Boxes: Use Staging or Production Server as Basis for Database??
I am setting up a developer box for Kentico and I already have a production server and a staging server setup. My gut tells me I should get the database from production as it is considered the "golden" version of the site, and use that as the basis for my developer boxes. Is that true?

Also, is it possible to configure the staging server so that I can use content staging on my developer box and have it post changes to the staging server, which if approved get moved to production?

Hello.

If you want to configure staging like Server A -> Server B (approval) -> Server C, it is possible. You can configure 2 stagings, one from A to B and second from B to C. Approval can be managed by workflow.
